Digital Learning at Trinity

At Trinity, we recognize the value of technology in the classroom and are committed to providing students with the digital resources they need to be successful, life-ready learners.   We believe that students should be digital producers as much as they are consumers. Our Digital Learning Catalyst supports teachers, students, and parents by providing age-appropriate resources and tools to enhance learning. In addition, all Lower School students participate in a 12-week technology course (taught by the Digital Learning Catalyst) that focuses on Coding and Digital Citizenship.

To foster creativity and personalize learning, we provide a variety of technology to our students and teachers. TES has a 1:1 Chromebook model in grades 4-8 and iPads in grades K-3. All classrooms are equipped with audio/visual presentation tools and Chromecast devices for teaching.
 

Our Philosophy

We are very strategic with technology integration at Trinity and introduce devices gradually as students progress through grade levels. Starting in Kindergarten, students have limited access to iPads because we want them to be more involved with interactive play.  As the grade level increases, so does the technology available in the classroom. Beginning in grade 4 all students are issued a Chromebook. In an effort to minimize homework and screen time, all of our devices stay at school.
 

Digital Citizenship

With the advancements in technology and the increase of use in the classroom, we ensure that our students must be educated on how to use the internet and digital tools in a safe and responsible way.  Because their online identity starts at such a young age now, students must be taught the importance of establishing a positive online reputation.

Skills such as copyright and information literacy are important for students to learn and practice as they use the internet to gather information and create products of their learning. Understanding the importance of credible sources and copyright laws will be skills they use for the rest of their life.  Digital citizenship also encompasses areas of internet use that are beyond classroom application, such as online identity and reputation, privacy and security, cyberbullying, and communication. As digital natives, our students use the internet regularly and we want to ensure that they are being safe and establishing a positive digital footprint each time they go online, whether they are at school or at home.

Our Digital Learning Catalyst supports students by providing a digital citizenship curriculum that teaches the skills needed to be responsible citizens online.
