General Information: Lunch and Snacks

Lunch and Snack

Students will eat lunch in our Dining Hall on a staggered schedule each full day. Family and friends are encouraged to join their students for lunch on occasion. We ask that all visitors sign in at the front desk and if purchasing a meal from the Wildcat Café, we ask that they pay for their Visitor Pass for the Wildcat Café at this time.

The Wildcat Café prepares a daily offering of nutritious foods including a hot entrée, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, soup, salad and deli sandwiches. Please consult the monthly menu found on the Trinity Web site or sent out with the Good News. The menu is subject to change due to the availability of fresh foods.

The meal plan is available to students only on an annual basis due to the size of our School. We do not have a la carte items or a cashier to collect money on a daily basis. If you are interested in registering your student, please contact the Business Office. The students will receive a laminated lunch pass which they need to have with them daily in order to identify them as lunch participants to the Wildcat Café staff. Many of the teachers collect the passes and hand them out daily.

The School and the staff of the Wildcat Café would like the students to learn how to make healthy choices by choosing a well-balanced meal. We ask that the parents reinforce this by reviewing the menu with their child and helping them make good decisions. If your child has food allergies or medical conditions that merit a special menu, please inform your child’s teacher and feel free to meet with the Café’s manager. All food allergies are listed on the student’s lunch pass.

Lunches brought from home should likewise be nutritious. In particular, we ask that no gum, candy or soda come to school. We highly recommend students use an insulated lunch bag (with names on the outside) and a thermos for warm foods since there are no refrigerators or microwaves available for student use. Additionally, we ask that you refrain from sending glass containers.

As thoughtful, ambitious stewards of our bodies and our community, Trinity urges all families to join us in maximizing nutrition and minimizing production of paper, plastic and food waste in the Trinity Dining Hall. To accomplish these goals, we hope you will:

A daily snack time may be in your child’s schedule. Those teachers that offer it will communicate how and when parents can assist with snack provisions. A healthy snack that requires no refrigeration or heating is recommended. Students participating in the afternoon Extended Day program are provided an afternoon snack and drink.

While the above may seem like a lot to ask, we do so because we place importance on sustaining both a healthy body and a healthy environment. A little thoughtful effort yields a great individual and collective reward!

Please be sure to communicate any food allergies to your child’s teacher and the Extended Day director, if applicable, and record this information on the Student Information Forms.
