General Information: Emergency Procedures
Trinity Episcopal School has a Safety Committee made up of administrators of the School, parents and local police officers. They have developed emergency preparedness procedures that outline steps to be taken in the event that we face any kind of threat, inclement weather or other type of emergency. Faculty, staff and students participate in periodic fire, lockdown and tornado drills in order to be prepared if such events occur. Each drill is assessed and recommendations for improvement are made and followed up on. The Safety Committee meets several times a year to review and update procedures.
The School also has adopted the AlertNow Notification System, which allows us to send telephone and/or email messages to parents and other emergency contacts parents have given us, providing important information about emergencies. If you have not done so already, we ask that you provide us with several ways to contact you or other emergency contacts. We will contact all numbers and emails only in a true emergency situation (not for general information and announcements). It is imperative that all families keep the School updated with emergency phone numbers and emails at all times in order for the system to work effectively. Emergency calls are distinguished by a unique caller ID of 411. This service has the ability to contact 6000 devices per minute, thus communicating important information in minimal time. Please be sure to say “Hello” when you answer the phone to activate the message. The system also will leave a message on any answering machine or voicemail.
On all-school occasions, this service will be used for non-emergency events and notifications, and will go out only to the “primary” phone number and email that you designated and will show up with a caller ID of 704. 358. 8101 (the School’s phone number).
