Field Trip Agreement

A hallmark of the Trinity Episcopal School (TES) education is the opportunity to use the Uptown Charlotte community and beyond as our learning landscape. TES students will participate in “field” experiences with regular trips to such places as ImaginOn’s Library and Theatres, AME Zion Church, Discovery Place, African American Cultural Center and Service Learning partnerships with several Uptown facilities such as Urban Ministries, Metro School, Merry Oaks Elementary, Edwin Towers and American Red Cross. Access to our uptown resources will be accomplished primarily on foot, using public transportation and private automobiles.

TES students will also branch out beyond the boundaries of the city with trips and excursions to such places as the Schiele Museum, Raptor Center, Biltmore House, Old Salem and Latta Plantation. Older students will have the opportunity to experience out of town overnight trips to places including Earthshine, Green River Preserve, Wilmington, Virginia and Washington, D,C. Students will be transported either in private automobiles or chartered buses.

Parents will be kept informed of our adventures through classroom newsletters, monthly calendars, the TES Web site and Good News

I give my child, ______________________________, permission to accompany his/her class on field trips and excursions during the 2008-2009 school year, as outlined above and on the attached addendum, but not restricted to only those places as other trips and excursions may come up and/or be substituted for those listed. Transportation may include walking, public transportation, private automobiles driven by volunteers and/or TES employees or chartered buses. I agree to release, hold harmless and indemnify TES, its agents, representatives, employees, volunteers and chaperones from any and all liability, loss, damages, claims or actions for bodily injury and/or property damage which now have or will have in the future, arising out of, or in any way have been associated with any field trip or off campus excursion.

I also understand that if I volunteer for any school function, event, field trip or excursion, that my personal Automobile, Liability or Medical Insurance shall serve as primary coverage, with TES’ Insurance serving as secondary coverage, in the event of any and all liability, loss, damages, claims or actions for bodily injury and/or property damage. All volunteer and TES employee drivers are required to have a current Drivers License and Automobile Insurance.
