Academic Life: Philosophy of Education
Among the early and visionary plans laid out by the Trinity Episcopal School board of trustees was a statement of philosophy of education. It calls for the essentials of a strong academic program: clear learning outcomes, variable methods of instruction and emphasis on learners who make connections across subject areas. To this it added a powerful mission to develop a community of learners, one that is characterized by openness, honor, grace and hope, that embraces academics, but also includes moral development, respect for diversity and service to others.
The administration and faculty are grateful to those early Trinity pioneers who paved a marvelous road for Trinity’s journey. We have built – and are continuing to craft - an academic program that fosters the development of fundamental and essential skills, but that does so in ways which inspire passion and keen attention to the world in which we live.
