Financial Aid FAQ
Steps to Applying for Financial Aid
Trinity Episcopal School is committed to providing financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to attend the School. All students (grades K-8) are eligible to apply for the need-based financial aid program.
Current families applying for financial aid:
- Complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) and submit it to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) by February 15. Trinity will distribute PFS forms in December.
- Submit tax return and W-2 to Trinity’s Admissions Office by March 31.
- Once the SSS evaluation has been completed and all documentation has been received in the Admissions Office, we will schedule you for a financial aid conference.
Applicant families seeking financial aid*:
*Please do not apply for financial aid until you have submitted your enrollment application and spoken with someone in our Admissions Office.
- Trinity will distribute the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) forms to the families of accepted kindergarten students in late February and to families with students accepted for grades one through eight in late March.

- Send a copy of your IRS 1040, 1099 and 4506 tax forms, all supporting schedules and W-2 to the Admissions Office in April.
- Financial aid conferences are held in April and May following the SSS evaluation and after all documentation has been received in the Admissions Office.
Financial assistance will not be granted until all financial obligations to the School are current. All applications and awards are confidential. Trinity Opportunity Grant
a merit-based grant program for middle income families
In response to the growing financial pressure on middle income families attending independent schools, Trinity’s Board of Trustees established the Trinity Opportunity Grant in the fall of 2005. The first wave of students eligible to apply for this grant will be rising sixth, seventh and eighth graders applying for the 2006-2007 school year. The Trinity Opportunity Grant is renewable for students who remain in good standing.
Eligibility:
- Students whose family annual gross income is between $75,000 and $160,000 as verified by a copy of their most recent completed tax return and a W-2 from the current year.
- Students will be selected on the basis of academic promise, good citizenship, leadership potential and a demonstrated benefit to the school community.
- Candidates from diverse backgrounds will be sought but not accorded preferential status.
- Equal gender opportunities will be given.
- Candidates are required to go through the standard admissions process and participate in an interview with the administrative team.
- Candidates must submit an essay of no less than 250 words describing a time they were involved in an activity to help people at their school, church or in their community and what they learned from their experience.
- Candidates’ parents will complete a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) in order to demonstrate financial need.
- Selections will be made by the Admissions Office and Head of School.
